I recently moved to Wilmington from Las Vegas, NV and love the change! I worked in the 1031 Exchange industry for over 7 years and enjoyed the many challenges and obstacles the industry had to offer but decided it was time for a change. I made the move to Wilmington, obtained my Real Estate license and joined with Live Oak Real Estate.

Originally from New York, I am what you refer to as a half back. I grew up in New York, lived in Florida for 13 years and have now moved half way back to Wilmington NC. I have been a resident of Carolina Beach and Wilmington for the last 15 years. Born in Atlanta, GA and raised wherever the Federal Government sent my mother: Georgia,Texas,Virginia,Washington D.C. I know all about moving.
I came to the Wilmington area with friends for the Azalea Festival in the spring of 1982. In 3 days I knew I would eventually live at Carolina Beach. I bought my 1st home at Carolina Beach in 1986 when I was 24 years old, and it was my 34th residence.
I got my license in 1991 and real estate has been my full time career from that day forward. I knew that someday everyone else would find this wonderful region of southeastern North Carolina, called "Cape Fear ". Boy, was I right ! The Greater Wilmington/Beaches area has really grown in the 27 years since I first came here. I have traveled all over the country,but nowhere else enjoys the rich and diverse lifestyle this area has to offer. After working as an Industrial Engineer, a Professional Personnel Recruiter, a Plant Manager and a Truck Driver I’ve come full circle back to the land, real estate. After living all over North Carolina for 20 years, Ive also come full circle back to Davie County.

For thirty years I have served as a minister and missionary, part of that time as a Pastor in both Virginia and North Carolina, and eleven years as a Missionary in East Africa, Uganda, and Greece in Southern Europe. Originally I'm from Maryland, but have lived in North Carolina for 20 years. I earned a Batchelor's degree in busines from High Point University. I had spent 16 years owning/running a photography business and while I love photography I was ready for a change. Real Estate was a natural fit for me. In 1988 our family saw our oldest son off to join the Navy and shipped off to the Middle East. We lived there for 9 years while I worked with Wake County School System managing the nutrition department of an elemetary school. My husband's job then moved us to Wilmington 15 years ago. At that time I went to work for New Hanover County Schools in their Nutrition department. Upon retiring from Child Nutrition I decided I wanted to change careers and go into real estate. I have always enjoyed working with the public and what better choice than helping families find the perfect home. I am so fortunate to be living in an area that is more like being on vacation each day then just a place to work and live. Friends introduced me to this area in the winter of 2003. “Come on down Dee, you will love it here, we’ve got a great beach house and you are looking a little too pale”, they said. So I did, jumped on a plane, left the snow behind only to discover palm trees, balmy breezes and the most pristine beaches when I arrived.
Soon after I replaced my snow shovel for a sand shovel and relocated to Southport, NC., with pets, furniture and my fiancé in tow.
Yes, my friends up North questioned my sanity, but every winter they visit me and many have also relocated themselves, or have seen the investment potential, and have purchased land or second homes for future equity.
Since my first introduction to this absolutely gorgeous area, I have assisted many others relocate. There truly is something for everyone here. Need some city life? No problem, we have Wilmington, NC or Myrtle Beach, SC. Commuter? Two airports close by. Plus, there are great restaurants, especially if you are a seafood lover, Yum, Yum. Love to golf, fish or boat, just ask me. Kids? Our school systems are rated very high.

After 14 years in the treated lumber business in sales, I was laid off after a big merger. So I decided to get into real estate in 1994.
